Since I do not know about plants, I cannot explain the reason for these different names, but it is already known that completely different plants can be named with the same name or the same plant can be named with different names. Bu bitkinin hamile kalmayı zorlaştırmak veya engellemek amacıyla muhtelif kullanımlarından bahsedilmektedir. Not: Halk arasında bazı "ısırgan-otu" çeşitlerine de "ebegümeci" denildiği söylenmektedir.
